The Sojka houses

Our three houses: SOJKA, LIPTAK and the "Brick House" are located in the picturesque village of Białka Tatrzańska, which lies on the banks of southern Poland's River Białka in the foothills of the Tatra mountains.

We have created a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere in the house to give visitors a taste of the local Highlander culture and cuisine. Outside on display in the open-air museum are items of old household equipment and tools to remind people of the hard lives people lived in the region in the past. In three adjacent buildings, we offer double rooms as well as rooms for three and four people, with bathrooms, TV and Internet access. We provide half-board, which includes breakfast and dinner.

The houses are situated at a certain distance from the road across the village, on a spacious green area that stretches to the riverbank, yet are easy to access at all times of the year.

We have a large shepherd’s hut with a fireplace and a barbecue area close to the riverbank where we serve our speciality – lamb roasted on an open fire.
Nearby, there is a playing area for volleyball. The entire green area near the river features many trees and bushes and is a perfect place for active recreation in all weathers.

In summer, it is close to the forest, football pitch and a skating park next to the school (sports equipment can be rented there), as well as a beautiful reserve at the gorge of the Białka River.Nearby, there are also water sports centres on the Czorsztyn-Niedzica Lake, rafting on the Dunajec River Gorge, castles in Czorsztyn and Niedzica, Zakopane, tourist routes into the Gorce, Pieniny, as well as Polish and Slovak Tatra Mountains.

In winter, it is close to several ski lifts, including Kotelnica Białczańska, as well as other lifts located along the village, featuring lighting and artificial snow units. One can find ski rentals, instructors, and free car parks. There is also a lit ice-rink nearby with a rental centre offering skating and hockey gear.

Located nearby are thermal centres with hot springs and bathing pools, for both indoor and outdoor recreation:

  • in Białka Tatrzańskia (approx. 1 km) - Terma Bania
  • in Bukowina Tatrzańska (approx. 10 km) - Terma Bukowina
  • in Szaflary, near Nowy Targ (approx. 12 km) - Termy Podhalańskie
  • in Zakopane (approx. 25 km) - Aquapark - Zakopane
  • in Oravice, Slovakia (approx. 54 km) - Meander Park
